Riverside Hazy Dawn has a dreamy, soft-focus feel to it as if to suggest that the sun is rising on a sleepy riverside community.
It has been drawn using soft pastels (PanPastels), applied wit h a sponge. The painting therefore has no sharp definition, except for a few silver pen lines in the foreground around the flower heads, along the tree trunk and around a few houses as suggested outlining.
The hazy soft-feel to this is intentional and unlike a lot of my normal work.
I have limited the prints to small sizes.
From a very early age I have been fascinated by paintings and imagery that capture mood and emotion by good use of colour and the illusion of sparkle. I like to envisage and engage with the imagination; almost as in an act of escapism - a journey of fantasy. My paintings tend to record experiences, places or ideas which are most important to me.
