Description
This highly abstract textured painting is my only fully abstract piece. As a scientist by career, I attempted to give meaning to the artwork on several levels; colour, texture and an scientific detail.
The original canvas is edged in white, indicating that all the vibrant colours combine to form white light. the wave-form is shown as a vibrational pattern.
The full spectrum represents variation in life and nature - everyone observing the painting will be naturally drawn to specific colours, and will take meaning from that.
Underneath the colour spiral I have added a texture element: a heart and a cross. These suggest love and compassion.
Prints look stunning displayed in both orientations: horizontally or vertically. The choice is yours.
