About Karen Jane Jones

Karen Jane Jones From a very early age I have been fascinated by paintings and imagery that capture mood and emotion by good use of colour and the illusion of sparkle. I like to envisage and engage with the imagination of the artist; almost as in an act of escapism - a journey of fantasy.

My paintings tend to record experiences, places or ideas which are most important to me. These include my faith (a Christian), prophetic images that I am given, angelic themes, wildlife, and images that conjure up memories of being with my family and friends.

I paint mainly with acrylics, oils or pastels. A few of my finished works are resin coated to provide a high gloss effect.

Photographs that I have included here allow viewers to experience moments in my life that are important memories for me; places I have visited, surreal unplanned moments (e.g.the 'butterfly flame image), and images that I might well paint at a later date.

As well as undertaking commissions worldwide for my pastel and acrylic artwork, I am also the author of a Christian book series based on the commandments, 3 poetry books, Children's short stories, a novel for teens and 2 hobby books.
