A beautiful painting of the Willis Museum in Basingstoke, Hampshire with a bronze statue of Jane Austen (the English author) in front. The museum is a focal point and a landmark of the pedestrianised town centre in Basingstoke.

This is the second of Karen's paintings of the Willis Museum. The previous version was painted prior to the statue was permanently installed.
The Willis Museum is named after George Willis, a renowned local watchmaker. It used to be the town hall building, but now houses an informative collection of artifacts from the local area, as well as hosting several exhibitions in its galleries each year.
